At 1.26pm on Thursday 29th November, Ben Priestley let out his first shriek. Weighing in at a very healthy 7lbs 14 oz, he quickly overwhelmed all around him with some cute goggy eyed expressions. That's babies for you!

Despite Ben being a full three meteres away from his mum, new dad Duncan floored the surgeon by asking to cut the umbilical cord. Clearly the enormity of the moment had clouded his rational thought.

Doting mum Joanne was so smitten with her new son that she quickly put behind her the 17 hours of labour.

Meanwhile, Nanna Morgan was quick to record the moments for posterity with some mobile snaps of little Ben at just ten minutes of age.
